Advertising and sponsored content
Advertising may help fund Hackways. Where a placement is paid for, it should be identifiable as an advertisement or sponsored content. An advertisement is separate from event information supplied by an organizer.
An ad does not mean Hackways endorses the advertiser, its claims, products or services. Check the advertiser and the destination before making a purchase or sharing information. Advertising does not change your registration status, ticket or access to an event.
Google and other advertising providers
Hackways has configured Google AdSense publisher verification. Verification does not itself display advertisements or establish that Google has approved an account or placement.
Where Google advertisements are served, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to select and measure ads based on visits to Hackways or other websites. Advertising services may receive information such as the page visited, IP address and browser or device details.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s advertising information. Other advertising providers, if introduced, will be identified in the relevant disclosures.
Your choices
Visit Cookies and cookie preferences to manage optional analytics on Hackways. The current Google Analytics integration keeps advertising storage, Google signals and advertising personalization disabled. Allowing analytics does not authorize personalized advertising.
You can manage Google ad personalization through Google Ads Settings. You can also review participating providers’ choices through the Digital Advertising Alliance. Turning off personalization may still leave contextual advertisements visible where ads are served.
Browser settings can block or remove cookies. These controls apply to the browser or account concerned; they do not delete a Hackways booking. Our Privacy policy explains analytics, service information and privacy requests.
Fair use of advertisements
Do not click advertisements repeatedly, use automation to generate impressions or clicks, or ask others to click merely to support Hackways. We do not require you to click an advertisement to register for an event or receive a ticket.
Sponsored placements must not imitate essential navigation, sign-in controls, ticket actions or payment instructions. An advertiser’s checkout and its terms are separate from Hackways registration.
Report an advertising concern
Use our Contact page to report a misleading, unsafe or inappropriate advertisement. Include the page address, advertiser or destination if known, and a screenshot where useful. Do not send passwords, verification codes, complete payment details or private ticket codes.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when advertising arrangements or privacy controls change. The date above identifies this version. Read it alongside Privacy, Cookies and our Terms of use.
